Pre-Setting

These are pictures of the setting I will use for the opening sequence in my film. It is in the college Sixth Form area and is convenient for the actors as they attend the college. The filming will take place during the actors free periods and I have been given permission to clear the Sixth Form area so that there will be no interruptions when filming is taking place.

Research for Script

As my opening sequence starts with a couple on their first date; I decided to research into topics that are commonly discussed on a first date so that I can involve them in my script to make the scene seem more realistic. Using the google search engine, I typed in "first date conversations for men" and it came up with a list of top 10. Here is the top 10 list:

I  will include some of these tips in my opening sequence but in order to make it funnier I could do the opposite to turn the date into an embarrasing one which some of the target audience might find funny and will therefore fufil the aim of a comedy film.

Type of comedy for my film

I enjoy the the type of comedy used in meet the fockers and would prefare to include that kind of humour in my film as it is funny but then the dialogue of the actors come across sarcastic which makes it more funnier than it is meant to be. Making the characters of my film seem abit sarcastic will be easier for me to achieve my target of creating a film under the genre of comedy rather than including actual jokes in the script because some people might not find the jokes as funny. It will be best to create make the characters seem sarcastic when  the characters are older and do not get along.

Location

I have chosen my Sixth Form centre as my location for the film because it is convenient for the actors as my actors will be attending this sixth form and the film can be shot without having to travel or arranging to meet with the actors. I have also chosen this area for my location because it is suitable for the setting of my film which is meant to be in a house. There are sofas, tables and a flat screen tv which creates the setting of a house. Although there are always students in the sixth form area I can arrange to shoot my film after college where there will be no students.

Character Analysis

This is a character analysis listing the characteristics I would like my actors to have in my film.

Possible male characters

The character Will Smith in Fresh Prince of Bel air could be a good personality for the male actor in my film as he is:

• Good looking
• Popular
• Quite masculine
• Has charm

The other character is Channing Tatum in She's The Man. He ould also be a good personality for my male actor as he is:

•  Good looking
• Sporty
• popular
• sensitive                                         

Possible Female Actors

In order to decide how I would like the personality of the female character of my film to have, I have chosen a range of different females from films that I like to watch and will choose which personality of the female characters best suits the role in my film.

This character is Hilary from the comedy Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
In the comedy series, she is known for being very good looking, fashion obsessed, a spoilt daughter and also not very articulate which causes some humour.

In the film She's The Man which falls into the genre of comedy,this character is more sporty in comparison to Hilary but at the same time she is in touch with her feminine side and still comes off as attractive.

In the film Mean Girls which also falls into the genre of comedy, this character comes across as one of the most popular girls in the school and appears to be mean and indirectly bullies her friends and other people in the school. She is very much in touch with her feminine side as she is a trend setter in the school and likes to impress boys.

In the film St. Trinians which also falls into the genre of comedy, This character comes across as popular with the pupils in the school and also the wisest as she is head girl and very smart. She is a rebellious school child and is very appealing. she is also quite kind and listens to the younger years. she is like the motherly figure to the rest of the pupils and has responsibilities to look after them.

In the series My Wife and Kids which falls into the genre of comedy, this charcter is a young sweet teenager which is attractive and is influenced highly by the latest fashion trends. She is in touch with her feminine side and interested in boys and is quite sensible but lacks common sense which can appear humorous to the audience.
