Evaluation
I think that in terms of planning my type of film in relation to existing comedy films or having an improvisational script, I have done this successfully as I looked at how these existing films have achieved the genre of a comedy and how the script is only semi improvised with guidelines. I used the same techniques so that my film can achieve the genre aimed for and will be successful.

7. If you had the chance, what will you do differntly in term of production practises?
In terms of production practises, I will use a high quality camera that will be able to zoom in and out so that I can show a range of camera shots. I will also make sure that all equipment is working such a the tripod, and if lighting is available so that my film can be of high quality.

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what have you learnt in the progression from it to full product?
I have developed my skills futher in using cuts effectively and appropriately to create meaning to the audience which will result in a better product. I have also improved in time managment of the sequence as in the preliminary task, I went over the time limited provided but in the real task, I had used the time effectively.
I have also improved my skills using the windows live maker software to edit my film, as in the main task, I added music and animations and also credits to make my film look more professional.

5. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I have learnt that in order to have a successful product of high quality, The equipment must also be of high quality.
My film was not of a high quality because I used a digital camera to shoot the film rather than a high quality camera as this was the only equipment available. The camera also did not allow me to zoom in or out so I found it hard to create close up shots and a range of other shots, so therefore I mostly used mid shots throughout the opening equence of the film. This is an image of the camera that i used to shoot my film.
There also wasnt a tripod available for me to use for my production as it had been broken. This meant that I had to shoot my video free handedly resulting in loss of quality for my production because my hand was not sturdy.
There was also not as much lighting as I would have liked in order for the audience to see the charaters faces and expressions clearly. Ths was because there was no lighting equipment available for me to use except natural light, which again added to the lack of quality for my product.
The software used to edit my film was Windows Live Movie maker, This was a good software for me to use as I was able to make cuts where needed, add music and create titles or animations.
However I did not know how to smooth the cuts that are in the same scene so that they do not look appear so dramatic as I cut certain parts of the scene because it was too long. This is an image of my work on movie maker.
I had gathered feedback from people about my film or the production of it, and this was what people said. The people that I asked were over the age of 15 as my film was targeting teenagers 15 and over, which will make my feedback more accurate:

Evaluation question 3
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product?
My film could be distributed by a few cinemas as my film will be likely to attract mostly teenagers of a British audience as it is in some ways similar to the film Kidulthood or Adulthood which attracted mostly teenagers of that lifestyle who were British.
Also, due to the quality of my film, it will be an independent film so will not be viewed in all cinemas.
It could also be viewed on social networks as it will attract the target audience which is teenagers as most use social networks.

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Through my characters, they are dressed in clothes which are very much in fashion which fits into the conventions of age as they are teenagers, they are likely to be interested in fashion trends.
I also used the idea of the teenagers using their phones frequently in the scene which again fits into the conventions of age as teenagers are depend highly on their phones. I made the characters use the phones in awkward situations which reflect real life.
I feel that I used props and costume successfully to fit into the conventions of age and represent them in a way which reflects real life.

Evaluation for 2 minute opening sequence
1. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The title of my film 'Changes Of Romance' conforms to the conventions of most real media products as the title relates to the film. My title explains shortly what the film is about and what the story line will be based on. It also makes the audience aware that the film will include romance however, the title does not show that the film is in the genre of comedy because of the word romance so it could be in the genre of romantic comedy.
The genre of my film conforms to the conventions of real media products, because a comedy type film must involve jokes which I included into the opening sequence such as the guy tripping over with popcorn and the girl announcing she wants to break up unexpectedly which was an idea taken from the romantic comedy Crazy Stupid Love. By creating a light hearted scene out of a situation, developed the conventions of a comedy film, as it is funny from the beginning which makes the audience aware of the genre of the film.
The props and costume choices of the characters conformed to the conventions of media products which will attract teenagers or maybe older as my film would be classified 15 because of the use of language. The costume used for the two characters were in fashion for teenagers which is likely attract teenagers as an audience.
The props such as the actors being on their phones and fighting over the tv remote reflect most teenage lifestyles which again is likely to attract teenagers as an audience.
The music I used in my opening sequence developed the conventions of a comedy film as I placed the music at the end to conclude an awkward moment which mocks the seriousness of the situation when the girl announces to her boyfriend that she wants to break up.
As the opening sequence was 2 minutes long, my aim was to show the audience from the beginning that the film is in the genre of comedy. I kept the camera shots pretty simple and made the funny parts reflect in their speech or actions. I also developed the conventions of a comedy film by using cuts to show how things happen dramatically such as when the guy was asking for the remote and then a cut was shown with the couple all of a sudden fighting over the remote. The use of cuts allow me to show the funny parts in just the beginning of the film to make the audience aware that the film is a comedy type.
From the making of my opening sequence, I was hoping to achieve the genre of my film which is comedy successfully to make the audience aware of what type of film it is and how it will reflect the whole film.

BBFC of my film
In order to attract teenagers, my film will have to be given a rating in which teenagers will be able to watch the film.
The BBFC rating of my film will be 15 as this is the age of teenagers that I want to target.
In order for my film to be rated a 15, it could contain: violence, strong or offensive language, emotional scences and mild nude scences.

Ways to target my target audience
As I already have a storyline and good feedback, I do not wish to change my storyline as love and first crushes reflect a teenage lifestyle.
I will just use blackberry's as a prop to reflect the lifestyle of teenagers and show how they use this in awkward situations, and I will also direct the actors to wear fashionable clothes and clothes that most teenagers wear. Such as clothes from HnM so that it appears realistic and shows tthat the actors are teenagers living a typical teenage lifestyle.

Story
As the maximum for my opening sequence is two minutes, I will have to make sure that each part of my storyboard lasts a minute maximum.

I have created a story board showing the camera shots of the opening sequence in my film. I have also written a few instructions of how I would want my actors to behave. I have also written a few quotes of what I would want my actors to say as my script will be partly adlibed.

Inspiration for Script
Another inspiration for my improvisational script is the American comedy film, Best In Show, directed by Christopher Guest.
This script for this film is hugely improvisational and inspires me to make my opening sequence in this style as the film is also in the genre of comedy.
Christopher Guest writes a synopsis of what he wants the character to be like and the characters adlib when the film is being shot. This is how I would like to direct my film.

I have taken inspiration from the British sitcom Outnumbered, directed and produced by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin.
The sitcom is known for semi- improvisational scripting which makes the storyline more realistic.
I feel that my opening sequence will seem more realistic and natural if I were to use this type of scripting as it does not resrict the actors in any way.

Research for Scipt
In order to keep the opening sequence original and natural I would prefere not to have a written script for the actors. I would like to give them guidelines on what will happen in the scene but not restrict them on what to say. This could make the opening sequence much funnier as the scene will appear natural which will include their own facial expressions and will be able to fulfill the genre of a comedy film.
In order to prompt my actors, I will sketch the camera angles and place a few guidelines on the main things that will happen such as at the end when the woman tells the man that she would like a divorce.
